(EN) The photobook presents the reactivation of a photographic archive produced in Punta Negra, on the coastal desert south of Lima, Peru. The images were captured between 1980 and 2005 by my father, Francisco Javier Espichán Gambirazio, and re-captured and processed between 2024 and 2026. The negatives remained stored for years; they now reappear incorporating the marks of time and territory —the humidity, sunburns and salinity of the coast— as constitutive elements of the image. The project situates itself at the moment when summer ends, when the seaside town returns to those who remain. From this period, the book organises a sequence in which collective memory, intimate memory and territory overlap.
(ES) El fotolibro presenta la reactivación de un archivo fotográfico realizado en Punta Negra, en el desierto costero al sur de Lima, Perú. Las imágenes fueron capturadas entre 1980 y 2005, y recapturadas y procesadas entre 2024 y 2026 como parte de este trabajo. Los negativos permanecieron guardados durante años; hoy reaparecen incorporando las marcas del tiempo y del territorio —la humedad, la salinidad— como parte constitutiva de la imagen. El proyecto se sitúa cuando el verano termina, cuando el balneario vuelve a quienes permanecen. Desde ese periodo, el libro organiza un recorrido donde memoria colectiva, íntima y territorio se superponen.
